When client, Larry Mapes of Valverde Energy asked me to pop out across town to take pictures of a solar PV installation yesterday, I hesitated for an instant. “Isn’t it raining out there?” I asked.

“It’s actually really nice out here!” he replied. “We can see clouds off in the distance… the western side of Santa Fe is usually drier than your location in the canyon.”

Despite the downpour on Cerro Gordo Road, I hopped in the MINI Cooper and headed down Route 599 and boy, was I glad I did! Folks who have been here longer than me say this kind of scene is commonplace, but for a DC city girl, it was just another chapter in my ongoing tome of jaw-dropping experiences in the Land of Enchantment.

This sequence of images features both monsoon shots and the beginning stages of a solar pv system on the roof of an award-winning adobe house which will be featured in the 2011 Santa Fe Parade of Homes next month!

These images will be up on the Valverde Energy website soon!
