About
My name is Susan J. Preston, and you’ve landed in the portfolio parade that is Webpoppy.net. I’ve been crunching pixels & code as a freelance web designer, flash animator and photographer for close to 13 years and wholeheartedly love it. Whether you’re a small business-owner looking for an elegant boutique site, or a creative agency seeking a designer/animator with a wide range of talent, I’m here to listen first, ask questions, find solutions, and above all, exceed your expectations.
I specialize in screen-based design including front-end web development, flash-based animations and speaker support presentations. You’ll find HTML email campaigns or “E-Blasts” in my portfolio, as well as some photography – before moving into interactive media, I shot professionally for 6 years. I craft my own HTML and CSS code but also partner with trusty back-end coders to handle the heavy database lifting when necessary. And when time permits, I hop on over to my site, Banjo Bunny, to keep the whimsically creative juices flowing. (Ask me about custom e-card development using the banjobunny.com database… it’s a great way to advertise!)
While working with a long-time creative director recently… one whom I’ve collaborated with on projects frequently over the years, she said, “Why are the people you work with so wonderfully nice and good?” I stopped and thought about her question for a moment and decided it must have something to do with the Way of the Webpoppy…
Be kind, smart, fun & creative. Practice kindness & humility and reward clients whose work makes the world (even if it’s just the one inside of my head) a better place. Maybe it’s the whimsical e-cards I create that attract the fun people. Maybe it’s chance. Maybe it’s creative karma. All I know is the ride is a lot more fun and rewarding when respect and appreciation are entwined with the know-how and talent to dream up the good stuff and the desire to get it done.
Welcome. Welcome to the World of Webpoppy.
